Summary/Abstract: This article shows how autofiction emerges from the gap between the Self that narrates and the Self that is narrated exploring the disjunction between past and present. It is not merely a genre, but an anthropological and ethical act in which the individual called homo narrans fictus constructs the Self through storytelling. Writing allows for coexistence with lost time and constitutes identity as a process of continuous retelling and fictionalization of the Self.
