Summary/Abstract: This study systematically examines the process of creating a “brand nation” concept, focusing on resource-poor Singapore. The research organically integrates Simon Anholt’s “competitive identity” theory, Joseph Nye’s “soft power” theory, and developmental state theory, employing qualitative text analysis and case study methods to support its arguments. The results demonstrate that Singapore successfully built its international image as a global technology and financial center and a “garden city” by transforming its efficient and corruption-free government administration, superior rule of law environment, high-quality education system, and highly free and open trade and low tax policies into core brand assets. Some criticisms have emerged citing environmental pressures from intense urbanization and restrictions on democratic freedoms. However, Singapore’s systematic brand-building process, governed by a developmental government, offers a replicable example of institutional innovation and scientific evolution for resource-poor economies
