Summary/Abstract: The maritime transport is one of the most important elements of word economy, so each disturbance in the world shipping can create serious problems in the world economy. The piracy activities showed that shipping safety in the Gulf of Aden and in waters around the Somalia should be consider as an international problem. The world countries take different activities to decrease such threats and make shipping more safety. One of such solution is multinational maritime operations. It is important to notice that multinational naval operation usually take place first of all in maritime area which are important not for world communities but first of all for world powers. The paper presents the different aspects of multinational maritime tasks groups activities around the coast of Somalia and lessons learned from of such operation. The paper presents also the advantages and disadvantages of antipiracy operations which are provided by world community and impact of political, economic military and legal factors on operations at sea.
