Summary/Abstract: Given his Czech ancestry, Father Milan Şesan, a renowned historian, professor of theology, and Romanian Orthodox priest, devoted significant attention to the research of Czech Christianity of Cyrillo-Methodius origin and its confessional individualization within the reforming tradition of Jan Hus. The conclusion Father Şesan reached is that Jan Hus and his friend Jerome of Prague sought, through their reform movement, nothing more than a return to the old Cyrillo-Methodist tradition in which the Moravian ancestors were Christianized. Therefore, the studies that expose the result of his research and on which this presentation and evaluation was made, reveal this truth; and, also, the attempts to revive this tradition with strong Eastern roots are not found only among the Hussites, but also in the modern era in Gorazd II, the first Czech Orthodox bishop (1924-1942), sentenced to death by the Nazis on September 4, 1942.
