Escalation of challenges to the personal data protection system in cyberspace

Summary/Abstract: The article examines the legal and tactical aspects of undercover police work and the use of con-fidential informants. The analysis focuses on the use of confidential informants, based on their use-fulness in detecting, preventing, and combating crimes of a general nature. In order to enhance the effectiveness of this police operational and investigative method, an adequate legal framework at the legislative level is necessary. In addition to protecting the secrecy of cooperation, the state should also provide more in-depth care, expressed in incentive criminal law norms for exemption from criminal liability. The collaborators in question work in the service of society, sometimes un-der conditions that threaten their lives and health.Ultimately, the benefits of the actions of secret voluntary collaborators far outweigh the poten-tial harm. The creation of a general incentive legal norm for exemption from criminal liability due to lack of public danger would also lead to certain tactical benefits for police operational and in-vestigative activities in relation to the recruitment and management of secret voluntary collabora-tors, which are bilateral processes. In all cases, there would be an increase in motivation on both sides.
