Summary/Abstract: The meaning of social action is consistent with the principles of humanism, in which the fundamental value is the human being and his or her well-being. It is of utmost importance to acknowledge human dignity, the significance and value of interpersonal relationships, and the right to development. They are essential for assisting the person, particularly in a difficult situation. Values that are crucial for social action are wisdom in the actions taken and respect for the specific task, as well as treating the recipient as a subject. The importance of these values, whose implementation illustrates the complexity of human actions, is the social project called the Noble Gift (Szlachetna Paczka), through which a person establishes a relationship with a person experiencing hardship in their social environment.
