Simone Boué. The Philosophy of a Relationship

Keywords: a caring partner; a special relationship; interviews with Simone Boué; Cioran’s Notebooks;
Summary/Abstract: Given the important role she played both in the philosopher’s everyday life and in his cultural memory (she cared for the Notebooks, an invaluable source of ideas left by Cioran), we believe that Simone Boué, too, deserves a few lines acknowledging this role of hers. But her stories and her voice will appear here only in relation to Cioran, just as she herself indicated with her well-known modesty in an interview, when prompted to speak about herself: „(...) c’est Cioran qui m’intéresse, pas moi.” In what follows, we will present several biographical details relevant to their relationship, even some scenes from their life; then, several of Simone Boué’s remarks on themes concerning her relationship with Cioran; throughout the article, meanings that she or he attributed to certain events or memories; and finally, a brief account of the publication of his Notebooks, her last gesture of affection toward him after his passing.
