Summary/Abstract: The ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) has evolved into a key instrument of public policy under the European Green Deal and directives such as CSRD and ESRS, reshaping corporate strategies and competitiveness. Prior research emphasizes ESG’s role in reputation and stakeholders’ trust, yet evidence on its direct impact on market advantage of the companies remains limited. Based on a survey of 27 WSE-listed companies, this study shows that ESG adoption enhances brand image, product quality, and financing conditions, while posing cost-related challenges. Findings confirm that ESG regulations not only mitigate environmental risks but also influence competitive dynamics, offering critical insights for economic policy and public management.
