Summary/Abstract: In this article, the reflection on the significance of the person as a role model in education, was undertaken, indicating that it is a fundamental issue, often marginalized in contemporary pedagogy. The aim is to show how Karol Wojtyła's personalist concept of the human person can serve as a foundation for rethinking the role of example and witness in education. The article deals with the meaning of the person as a model in the educational process and the potential of Wojtyła's concept as an inspiration for contemporary educational theories and practices. The methods applied for the research include the analysis and interpretation of philosophical texts, comparative and synthetic methods, and hermeneutics. The first part of the article discusses classical and personalist foundations for understanding the person as a moral and educational role model, with references to the selected concepts in contemporary philosophy of education. Then, the philosophical foundations of Karol Wojtyła's anthropology are presented. Also, the pedagogical implications of this concept are depicted, especially the importance of personal example and witness meaning in the educational process. The analysis demonstrates that Wojtyła's concept of the person as a free being, capable of action and responsibility, opens the way to an integrated understanding of education as a process of participation. This concept also allows overcoming reductionist pedagogical approaches based on technocratic models of education. The analysis of Karol Wojtyła's philosophy indicates that the person as a model grounded in participation may serve as a foundation for contemporary pedagogical reflection in the face of the crisis of authority and the relativization of values. The article opens a perspective for further research on the personalist approach to education.
