The Issue of Authorship in Works Created by Artificial Intelligence

Summary/Abstract: The article seeks answers to current challenges posed by artificial intelligence, taking Foucault’s question “What is an author?” as its starting point. This question is particularly relevant in cases where the generated works are indistinguishable from those produced by human intelligence. As Chomsky argues, artificial intelligence plagiarises from humans in order to maintain a previously unimaginable “multidimensional space” of texts and to extract from them interpretations that await their authors.
