Summary/Abstract: This article aims to enrich the literature on childhood happiness with considerations regarding the importance of psychological well-being for children's academic achievement. To address this goal, an attempt was made to answer the following research questions: what role does a child's psychological well-being play in achieving academic success, and what factors contribute to a child's sense of happiness? A literature review was used to construct the argument, reviewing empirical research on the relationship between selected factors related to child well-being and academic success. The first section highlights family factors that influence children's mental well-being, including parental happiness, parental involvement, family bonds, physical contact between parents and their children, time spent together, and father involvement. The following section examines the relationship between children's activity and their mental well-being regarding school success, focusing on the role of play, stress management, clear rules of conduct. The results of the analyses indicate that children's mental well-being is one of the most critical factors determining school success. The conclusions drawn constitute the basis for further empirical analyses in this area. They may also help develop programmes supporting the mental well-being of children and constitute a foundation for constructing interventions aimed at improving children's mental well-being.
