Teaching for Creativity in Brzechwa's Trilogy About Professor Kleks [Inkblot]

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to enrich the literature on Jan Brzechwa's novel with the point of view of a creativity teacher. The trilogy about Professor Kleks [Inkblot], analysed through the prism of pedagogical categories derived from theories of creativity, will serve as an example of teaching for creativity and teaching about creativity. A review of research was conducted on the relationship between reading activities and the development of creativity in children, reading fiction and human creative potential. The concepts of "creative reading" were analysed, considering both creative-critical and divergent-convergent thinking. The intergenerational dimension of the book rooted in cultural awareness was emphasised. The novel is an inspiration for carrying out creative activities with children, and its notable example is the school world presented in it. The main character was described - teacher of alternative education who is a master at creating. Classes at the academy are based on the idea of creation, which was the inspiration for creating didactic suggestions - examples of tasks aimed at stimulating creative mental operations.
