Summary/Abstract: Classroom management can be challenging if students are prone to conflict. The purpose of the research was to create an atmosphere in which students resolve conflicts in an acceptable manner. The aim of the work was to develop nonviolent conflict resolution competencies in lower primary school students through action research. Nonviolent conflict resolution involves patience and imagination to find solutions that can be acceptable to both parties to the conflict” (Bagić et al. 1994 p. 156). The workshops developed awareness among students about the importance of nonviolent communication and nonviolent conflict resolution, but also made a change in children's behavior. Children tried to cooperate more and respect each other.
