Sources of the Emergence of Religious Fanaticism in Bulgaria

Summary/Abstract: In the modern world, the formation of personal religious orientation is the result of the simultaneous effect of ideological, social, and cultural factors. Based on paradigms recognized in sociological science for determining the degree of religiosity, it is evident that religious fanaticism is its extreme manifestation. Often, religious fanaticism exacerbates the socio-political problems in the state and undermines the principles of its sustainable development. The report provides an analysis of religious fanaticism as a social phenomenon and the causes underlying its emergence in Bulgaria
