Summary/Abstract: The report analyzes the legal nature, structure, and competences of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) as the first supranational body with prosecution powers. It examines the interaction between the EPPO and national authorities in Bulgaria, as well as the substantive scope of offenses under Directive (EU) 2017/1371 (the PIF Directive). Special attention is paid to the challenges of shared competence and the collection of evidence in a cross-border context. The paper also addresses the right of evocation, procedural safeguards for suspects and accused persons, the practical application of EPPO in Bulgaria, the possible future expansion of its mandate, and its cooperation with third countries and international organizations
