Summary/Abstract: The paper examines the opportunities and risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in teaching economics at the secondary school level. It presents the main theoretical aspects of artificial intelligence in education and its importance for developing students’ digital competences. The possibilities for applying AI-based technologies in the creation of teaching materials, economic case studies, practical tasks, and educational projects are analyzed. The potential risks related to the use of generative systems in the educational process are also discussed
