Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article was to present, by reflection on ways of using various capacities of glossary in Ziemia obiecana by Reymont concerning the quality of sensual perception by eyes, ears, how important the analysis of the language of a literary work is in literary interpretation, which has been underestimated by literary researchers. Discovering principles of using e.g. names of sounds by the writer in the "Łódź epos", though does not allow to find unrevealed so far meaning levels, it makes significant shifts in the kernel of evaluation and characteristics of the writing. Consequently it shows the conceptual contents of the work in a new light and offers a different look at the author and his working methods.
