Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the analysis of language in social work with juvenile delinquents, focusing on the implications that linguistic expressions can have on the rehabilitation process. By analyzing the terms used to describe the behavior of juvenile delinquents and to plan resocialization interventions, the attitude of professional workers towards juvenile delinquency as well as their chances for successful social reintegration were investigated. The work is based on unpublished analyzes of 100 diagnostic reports on juvenile offenders in the Republika Srpska as part of a broader investigation of the theoretical and methodological characteristics of professional work with juveniles in centers for social work. The results of the analysis of this conceptual-categorical apparatus of social work showed that the use of empowering language indicates the proactivity of social workers. The paper emphasizes the need for changes in the language approach of social work and preventive social action in order to promote social harmony and prevent recidivism.
