Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is to study, from a discursive and conversational perspective, question-answer exchanges based on two study corpora created in two different environments, face-to-face and remote, with the corpora consisting of discussions between native and non-native speakers of French. The study classifies exchanges into four categories according to their degree of interactivity, taking into account parameters such as the order of questions asked, the alternation of questioner and respondent roles, the length of questions and answers, and their conversational value. The analysis aims to identify the degree of interactivity in each category of exchange and to compare the influence of each environment on the verbal behaviour of participants, particularly with regard to the development of the interactional skills of non-native speakers of French. The results of the analysis indicate that remote or distance environment is very conducive to improving these skills in that it requires accurate and detailed verbalisation of each idea, as non-verbal resources are not present, and in that it generates less stress for language learners and allows for a slight slowing down of communication, which is useful for reflection, formulation and comprehension. Face-to-face environment, on the other hand, has undeniable advantages for the development of non-verbal techniques, which support verbal communication in this type of interactions.
