Summary/Abstract: The present paper traces the history of the members of the Schorn patrician family from Braniewo, founded by Heinrich Schorn who migrated to the town from Kaiserswerth (Rhineland) mid-17th century. His descendants belonged to the political and economic elite of Braniewo until the late 18th century. The family's history is presented against the backdrop of contemporary events, based on published works and source materials - some of which have not been previously analyzed or utilized. The study documents the Schorn family's domestic life, professional/political trajectories, and relationships with prominent figures of the era. One aim of the analysis is to examine the history of the 17th- and 18th-century Braniewo through the lens of a single burgher family. Two figures in particular - Michael and Arnold Schorn - receive special scrutiny for their historically attested reach, extending well beyond Braniewo.
