Summary/Abstract: One of the consequences of a population ageing is an increase in the demand for long-term care services, including Alzheimer's patients. The aim of the analyses undertaken in this article is to identify the needs of family caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease in terms of expected care support and to formulate a rationale for the directions of care system development. The article presents the result of research conducted in Szczecin in 2023 on a sample of 573 family caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease. When designing systemic solutions to support family caregivers of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), it is important to point to caregivers' considerable interest in the possibility of leaving the patient with AD in the care for a few hours a day 1-2 times a week (47.8%), for 1-2 weeks in a 24-hour institution (38.4%), and in access to care in a day support centre (19.5%).
