Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the use of possessive resultative constructions (formed with the verb имам ‘have’ and a passive participle) in data that may be taken to reflect con-temporary colloquial Bulgarian. The so-called have-perfect (or past resultative) is commonly described as one of the main features associated with Standard Average European and is also found in the languages of the Balkan Sprachbund, where it has sometimes been treated as a Balkanism. In Bulgarian, however, the have-perfect has not undergone full grammaticalisation. Its attested uses nevertheless suggest certain constraints on its realisation, particularly with regard to the expression of resultative meaning or the delimitation of situations or activities.
