Summary/Abstract: In this study, I explore the international relations of the teaching staff at the University of Cluj (and of the institution itself), limiting the scope to a single faculty. Primarily, I aim to demonstrate that, during this time, university professors had extensive connections with the international – especially European – academic world. They became known worldwide through conferences, official university visits, and informal relationships with specialists from various fields. Additionally, I also provide examples of the substantial financial support granted by the Hungarian state to these efforts. This support was most visible in the cases of participation in international conferences. On such occasions, professors could even receive their entire annual salary. To identify the professors’ foreign relations, I used archival sources, journals, and the existing literature.
