Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the Warpie-Kamionka district of Będzin as a geomaterial non-siteof Holocaust memory, concentrated on the Ghetto Fighters House. The author combinesthe perspective of memory studies, materiality turn, and “contaminated landscapes,”demonstrating that the landscape – with its warpie (mounds), quarries, and vegetation –constitutes a vehicle of violence as important as literary texts. In dialogue with StanisławWygodzki’s prose, the article reconstructs the tensions between the silence of grass, the ruins, the commemoration, and the oblivion. Here, literature and geoheritage createa palimpsest of memory, in which the history of genocide intertwines with the longuedurée of nature.
