Summary/Abstract: The present study focuses on the animal bones discovered in the Sarmatian settlement at Cerneteaz-Sit 7. The archaeological site was discovered as a result of archaeological field research undertaken during the construction of the DN69-A1 connecting road with the A1 highway, Timiș county. The analyzed animal bones come from six supply pits and number 134 remains. Of these, only 33.5% could be determined, belonging exclusively to domestic animals. Most remains come from domestic cattle (42.2%) and horses (37.7%), and at the opposite pole are sheep (8.8%) and domestic swine (11.1%). Slaughter ages show a preference for young individuals (juveniles and subadults). The osteometric data taken from a metacarpus allowed us to reconstruct the height in the case of the species Equus caballus (horse). This resulted in a waist of 1384 mm and a thin body shape.
