Summary/Abstract: The site of Lazuri – Ratul lui Bela (in Hungarian: Nagy Bela-ret/ Bela- ret/ Bela retje ) is located in the north-western part of Satu Mare county, along the marshy grassland called Gabornya. The site is located 500 m to the northwest, on the right side of the Lazuri-Peleș road. The area is situated on the Someș plain between the Someș river and the Noroieni stream. Here is one of the most important routes between the Great Hungarian Plain and Transylvania. The flooded area called Gabornya meadow lies between two dry low terraces. In the northwest lies the site Lazuri – Lubi tag, and in the southeast Lazuri – Ratul lui Bela. In both sites was excavated parts of Celtic settlements. The site Lazuri – Ratul lui Bela was researched in the years 1970. First in 1974, until 1977, then in the period 1979-1981. The research was led by Gheorghe Lazin from the Satu Mare County Museum. In addition to the pottery kilns from the Roman Age, features from the Early Medieval Age (6th-9th centuries) and from the Iron Age (Celtic La Tene culture), were discovered. During the 1979 campaign, a Late Iron Age Celtic sunken house was discovered in section S.III. The complex was disturbed by a Roman-age oven and its service pit (Pl.II/2). The dwelling (L1) was rectangular with rounded corners, 3.15m wide. The complex was dated to the 3rd-2nd centuries.
