Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the overall situation of the political evolution from Egypt during the last half of century. After a short introduction on colonial heritage the study approaches issues regarding the three presidents: Nasser, Sadat and Mubarak. The essay also defines the role of the opposition in Egypt and how the main party managed to keep control of the political power during all these years, especially by blocking any form of real opposition. In this article can be found the main reasons why Egypt hasn’t got an actual democratic political system and can be called a blocked transition.
