This work was composed of thirteen parts which include: historical, mythical, Catholic and autobiographical elements. There are a lot of the proverbial forms in this poem. In the first seven parts Vila Slovinka narrates about the history of Zadar and Illiria (Croatia). Many verses are devoted to Zadar. Some of them are encomiastic and some have a character of lamentations. For better viewing the parts are listed in the same order as in the poem. Highest esthetic value in this work has bugaršćica called Mother Margarita which Juraj Barakovic recorded and incorporated in the eighth singing of Vila Slovinka. Mother Margarita is one of the most beautiful bugaršćica. Therefore, special attention has been given to this song. Barakovic wrote Vila Slovinka in praise of Zadar, Sibenik and their compatriots.
