Summary/Abstract: Human Freedom and Responsibility – Complementarity in Unity. This paper examines the intrinsic unity between human freedom and responsibility, exploring them as complementary dimensions of personal existence. The first part distinguishes “freedom from” as liberation from external and internal constraints, a necessary but incomplete stage of human autonomy. The second part develops “freedom for” as the positive orientation of freedom toward meaning, truth, and love. Building on these foundations, the analysis of existential responsibility reveals the human person’s vocation to respond consciously to the gift of existence. Moral responsibility, in turn, expresses this existential depth through ethical choices that affirm human dignity and relational integrity. Together, freedom and responsibility form a dynamic unity in which the person realizes self-transcendence and authentic humanity.
