Summary/Abstract: Problems of Nationalism (rus. Woprosy Nacjonalizma. Żurnał naucznoj i obszczestwienno-politiczeskoj mysli) was a Russian journal published between 2010 and 2019. It played the role of an informal press organ of the "new" Russian nationalism, which, unlike traditional Russian nationalism, was nation-centric, not state-centric, and at the same time oppositional to the system of power shaped in Russia. The aim of this article is to analyse the programme platform of the "new" Russian nationalism presented in indicated journal. The adopted hypothesis suggests that the distinguishing feature of "new" Russian nationalism is the pursuit of empowering a nation, in a manner of Western nation states, as opposed to the traditional Russian nationalism and its sole focus on the state. In this study, the "new" nationalism, as laid out in Problems of Nationalism, is examined through the lens of aforementioned nation-centrism, as well as its attitude to the idea of empire and the mission of the Russian nation, democracy and power, and lastly migration policy. The results of this study suggest confirmation of the hypothesis. Moreover, the study points out the inclusion of the idea of democracy (in a limited scope). All "new" nationalists, however, viewed immigrants as enemies of Russia and Russians.
