Summary/Abstract: The conference “Historical Sources and the Interpretations of Historians,” held in June 2024, was conceived not only as a scholarly event but also as an occasion to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Oradea. Over the course of its fifteen years of activity, the Center has established itself as a key contributor to Romanian historiographical research by advancing new lines of inquiry, particularly those concerned with political, ethnic, and confessional border dynamics in the western and eastern regions of the Romanian cultural space. It has fostered dialogue among adjacent disciplines, most notably between history and philology, while promoting the exploration and critical analysis of newly uncovered documentary sources and encouraging comparative approaches in the historiographical writing of both Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
