The Historiography of the Municipality of Oradea since 1989: Themes, Research Directions, Accomplishments

Summary/Abstract: The historiography of this period of more than two decades since 1989, written in Romanian, but by Romanian, Hungarian or Jew authors, referring to the municipality of Oradea, is rich and diversified, both as form of accomplishment and especially as themes and research directions, that speak about the fields of the urban life. We find in this way from albums, synthesis-stories of the city, to scripts that deal with specific aspects such as baroque, architecture or ironware; from habitat, ordinary life and sacral imaginary, to manufactury industry; from institutions, organizations, media, people, plagues, means of transportation or even lending-book. All together contribute to the shaping of a very general and realistic image of the municipality from the Crişul Repede river.
