Summary/Abstract: The communist regime meant total control of the authorities and “force institutions” over the society. Everybody was supervised, from the workers to pupils and students. A special attention, in the 70’s, was accorded to the higher education institutions. One of them, located in Oradea, got the attention of the local Securitate and Militia after a relative large group of students celebrated the anniversary of the Union of the Romanian Principalities on January 24, 1972 in a not so common way. In this paper we will see what happened then and what the local authorities’ response was in the next few years.
