Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the sport of rugby in our country. After examining the history of both male and female versions of this sport, the main views of scholars on femininity and masculinity in our time are presented. A parallel is drawn between the male version of the sport and folklore stories, legends, songs about heroic gatherings. Field work from Balkan Cats, Berkovitsa, Burgas Sailors, NSA Sofia is presented. The topic of women in rugby and the programs for women to develop young athletes who have chosen this complex sport is particularly prominent.
