Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to assess the possibilities of implementing the lean healthcare management concept in the conditions of a Polish health care institution and to answer the question of whether the implementation of lean can contribute to improving the efficiency of internal logistics in the State Medical Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. The research focused on optimizing the processes of storage and transport of materials as well as medical waste disposal. Process analysis methods were used, Gemba Walk and the Pareto rule, which allowed for identifying waste and indicating directions for improvement. As a result of the work, recommendations were developed to reduce transport time for medical personnel to the operating room, which contributed to reducing the workload of medical staff and increasing the effectiveness of patient care. The results of the research suggest that the implementation of lean concept in hospital logistics can bring measurable organizational and economic benefits, improving the quality of care for both patients and employees.
