Review of the monograph - Yurii Pelekh: „Axiopedagogy: Th eoretical and methodological concept and practical perspectives”

Summary/Abstract: Reflection on the presence of values in teaching and education has a long, albeit variable, tradition over time. Axiopedagogy is a relatively young but rapidly developing field of research. In recent years, more and more teachers and researchers have become interested in the complex issues it raises. One of the purposes of axiology in pedagogy is to help clarify educational objectives, since without a clear understanding of the values that are important in teaching and upbringing, it is difficult to determine what should be taught and how it should be done in practice. At the same time, what decisions must be taken in this context? Among the many research topics covered in this field are: the nature of values, moral development, character formation, social justice issues, pluralism and tolerance in education. This goes hand in hand with a deep conviction that education must be based on values that can be taught and passed on to pupils, and that moral development itself is an important component of education, the functioning of which can be effectively improved. In addition, the formation of values must be integrated into the entire educational process.Refleksja nad obecnością wartości w nauczaniu i wychowaniu ma długą, choć zmienną, tradycję w czasie. Aksjopedagogika jest stosunkowo młodą, ale szybko rozwijającą się dziedziną badań. W ostatnich latach coraz więcej nauczycieli i badaczy zainteresowało się złożonymi zagadnieniami, które ona porusza. Jednym z celów aksjologii w pedagogice jest pomoc w wyjaśnianiu celów edukacyjnych, ponieważ bez jasnego zrozumienia wartości, które są ważne w nauczaniu i wychowaniu, trudno jest określić, czego należy nauczać i jak to należy robić w praktyce. Jednocześnie, jakie decyzje należy podjąć w tym kontekście? Wśród wielu tematów badawczych poruszanych w tej dziedzinie znajdują się: natura wartości, rozwój moralny, kształtowanie charakteru, kwestie sprawiedliwości społecznej, pluralizm i tolerancja w edukacji. Idzie to w parze z głębokim przekonaniem, że edukacja musi opierać się na wartościach, które można nauczać i przekazywać uczniom, a sam rozwój moralny jest ważnym składnikiem edukacji, którego funkcjonowanie można skutecznie poprawić. Ponadto kształtowanie wartości musi być zintegrowane z całym procesem edukacyjnym.
