Summary/Abstract: The Role of Diplomacy in Promoting Global Peace. Peace Education, a Universal Human Right. The word peace has many definitions today, with many interpretations and areas of research. Peace is a complex and multidimensional concept, which can be understood as the absence of war, a state of personal well-being, social harmony or a continuous process towards a more just and peaceful world. By peace, we mean the capacity of a society to transform, manage and resolve conflicts non-violently. In this sense, peace is not a utopia, as it can be built day by day, and the role of humanity is to create the cultural, political and social conditions to make it possible. Peace education is recognized as a fundamental right, essential for the promotion of a culture of peace and the full realization of human rights. This right implies access to information, education and training on human rights in order to develop global awareness and promote tolerance, dialogue and cooperation.
