Summary/Abstract: The foreign policy strategies of Serbia and Montenegro have developed separately since 2006 and the collapse of the state union, reflecting their unique political, economic, and social contexts. Although both countries share a common historical and cultural heritage, their divergent foreign policy paths have been shaped by different priorities, geopolitical positions, and relationships with major powers. Accordingly, this paper aims to explore the divergent approaches to conducting foreign policy, analysing key differences in the relations of Serbia and Montenegro with major international actors such as the EU, NATO, the USA, Russia, and China. Special attention is given to regional issues, particularly the status of the southern Serbian province (Kosovo and Metohija), as well as internal and external factors that have influenced the shaping of these divergent paths. The main objective of this paper is to scientifically examine and analyse the differences in the foreign policy orientations of Serbia and Montenegro, based on available academic sources and literature.
