Summary/Abstract: The original idea of this research was to see how high school graduates from Varaždin, Croatia, and from Ptuj and Maribor, Slovenia, experience the contemporary relationship between Croatia and Slovenia? Which country do they consider more successful, more recognizable in the world, and do they plan to work and live in a neighboring country one day? However, Slovenian schools from Ptuj and Maribor did not respond to the survey, so the research was conducted only in Varaždin. The research was conducted in May 2024 through the Google forms application, and the survey consisted of 15 questions divided into several groups. The research provided an answer to what information/ knowledge Varaždin high school graduates possess about their Slovenian neighbors, i. e. do they know their culture, contemporary music, sports, nature, political life and more. The high school graduates were selected because they are on the verge of adulthood (or some of them are already adults), and do not carry the burden of living together in the former Yugoslavia. These young people were born in the modern Republic of Croatia, which had its own path, not so different from the Republic of Slovenia, and yet different enough for young Varaždin graduets to form their own views. 325 Varaždin high school graduates participated in the survey, and below are the results of their answers.
