Summary/Abstract: This study highlights the profound effects of the virtual world on the existential matrix of the human being. The digital information bombardment, as well as the immersion of gadgets in the new order of daily life, produces some of the most radical changes in the perception and experience of human reality, at the level of communication and interpersonal relationships, of thinking and behavior, but especially in terms of man's relationship to the coordinates of transcendence. Digital technologies have altered the nature of our connections – with others, with ourselves, and with God. Human life and energy have already been absorbed into cyberspace, and many believe that the very mission of the Church has shifted into the virtual environment. The real challenge of today's Christian consists in cultivating faith and discernment in the face of the technological roller and AI interfaces, in order not to confuse the spiritual and eschatological life with the snares of augmented reality, respectively to resist digital prostration. More than ever, modern man is confronted with his own immortality which can be virtual or ontological.
