Summary/Abstract: A review wich wants to demonstrate the importance of the wooden churches from one of the most oldest and beautiful area from Romania, as well as the patrimonial value of this kind of vernacular architectural monuments. These wooden churches are craftsmanship examples, unjustly considerated to be popular artwork. They belong not only to the countryside, but also to the cities and their age is greater than originally thought.
