Me and King David

Summary/Abstract: At some point, during my artistic journey, the Book of Psalms became a rich source of artistic representations. An arduous path at the beginning, with hesitations, groping, searches, which had the gift of unblocking the channels of thought and clarifying the way of reflection. The specific work of the imagination had to be helped by information, which I extracted from the comments made to the psalms by specialist authors in the field. From the hundreds of executed images, we chose those that were exhibited to the art-consuming public in exhibitions organized in Bucharest and in several cities in the country. The crowning of this theme occurred with the realization of a cultural project, entitled “Me and King David”, consisting in the organization of several exhibitions with graphic plates attributed to each psalm of the Psalter and the editing of an album with reproductions of the exhibited works. My effort to make a large number of representations of the psalms was noticed and appreciated by personalities from the sphere of art criticism and history, who spoke at the exhibition openings or wrote in the catalogs of the respective events. That's why I wanted to insert in the lines of the present article some fragments of the value judgments of these artists towards the works on the simes, so that, implicitly, they reach the readers of your magazine.
