On the criteria estimating linguistic correctness and their role in the contemporary normative linguist's work

Summary/Abstract: In the article, there is a reflection on the changing way of working by contemporary normative linguists, as well as on the research tools they use. The attention is focused on the criteria estimating linguistic correctness. There is a critical view on the present terminological suggestions concerning language culture, new suggestions of more precise definitions referring to the criteria of linguistic correctness, and the way in which they are applied. The conclusions are based on the exact analysis of criteria mentioned in post-war theoretical works.
