Summary/Abstract: This study offers an analytical reading of Dominik Tatarka’s novel The Demon of Consent (1963) in the context of dystopian discourse. The analysis focuses on the mechanisms of power, ideological subjugation, and the construction of totalitarian consciousness, while also conducting an interdisciplinary comparison between the artistic strategies of the novel and the philosophical concepts of Michel Foucault’s Discipline and Punish: The Birth of the Prison (1975).
