Restoration of the icon on glass Crucifixion of Jesus from the collection of the ASTRA Museum

Summary/Abstract: The icon on glass Crucifixion of Jesus, dating from the end of the 19th century, is an icon of Western influence. The restoration interventions carried out were determined by the degradations existing on the piece. Besides the chemical and biological investigations, X-ray fluorescence analyzes have also been carried out during the event. The piece benefitted from restoration interventions within the 7th edition of the Restoration Workshop organized by the ASTRA Museum through the ASTRA Centre for Heritage.
