Restoration of the icon on glass Virgin Mary and the Child from the collection of the ASTRA Museum

Summary/Abstract: The icon on glass Virgin Mary and the Child, from Gherla and dating since the second half of the 19th century, was restored because of the existing degradations especially at the level of the colour film. The restoration interventions carried out were determined by the poor state of conservation of this piece. In the process of restoration were involved students from the Conservation and Restoration Specialization within the History, Heritage and Protestant Theology Department, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, „Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu.
