Summary/Abstract: The article analyses the participation of the public in the investment process concerning nuclear power plants in Poland in the context of energy justice. The paper presents the theoretical foundations of civic participation, and the relationship between procedural and discretionary justice, as well as the acceptance by the public of nuclear investments. The current legal status and practice of public involvement is discussed, highlighting the limitations of existing consultation mechanisms, and the inadequate implementation of solutions that enhance transparency and citizen influence on decisions. Analysed are the cases of the citizens' panel in the Republic of Korea, and the practice of public consultation in the planning of the first Polish nuclear power plant. The final part provides recommendations de lege ferenda for strengthening public participation and implementing the principle of energy justice in national regulations.
