Summary/Abstract: The article examines Russia's neo-Eurasian geopolitical doctrine, an ideology that justifies Russia's desire to rebuild its influence in Eastern Europe. The author emphasises that Eastern Europe is of crucial importance to Russia - strategically, historically, and economically. Moscow treats the region as its natural sphere of influence and a security buffer, an attitude that leads to a confrontation with the West. Seeking to regain its status as a global power, Russia wants to recreate its 'civilisational frontiers' and regain control of the post-Soviet space. As a result, the author predicts Russian actions in Eastern Europe will escalate over the coming years. They include actions of a non-kinetic nature (propaganda, cyberattacks, provocations) as well as possible military aggression.
