Summary/Abstract: The article explores the concept of creatio ex nihilo from a dual perspective, philosophical and theological. In pre-Socratic philosophy, it is analyzed how fundamental principles such as the apeiron or primordial elements (air, fire, water, earth) are conceived as sources of becoming, without implying an act of creation from nothing. In particular, Anaximander argues that existence derives from the separation of opposites, avoiding the idea of a transformation of being. In contrast, Christian theology introduces the notion of creatio ex nihilo, where God, as actus purus and potentia, brings the world into existence without undergoing any division or transformation, remaining simultaneously transcendent and immanent. This paper explores the implications of this divine creation for understanding the relationship between being and non-being in the ontological framework, emphasizing the distinction between ousia and energy and how they underpin the creative act. In this context, creatio ex nihilo is seen not only as an ontological creation, but as a manifestation of divine power, emphasizing the incomprehensible character of the transition from non-being to being.
