Summary/Abstract: The article presents the case study of Teresa Radice and Stefano Turconi's fumetto (comics) La terra, il cielo, i corvi, which tells the story of an Italian soldier escaping from a Russian prison at the end of World War II. The study is preceded by a brief presentation of the authors' poetics. The central part of the article investigates the strategies used by the cartoonists to create the effect of the real, the analysis focuses on: using the optics of the individual to tell about historical events, historical-geographical correctness, multilingualism and the creation of the quasi-archive. This is followed by a consideration of possible linguistic choices in the case of transferring the text into another culture and language, and conclusions.
